Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about therapy? Here are answers to the most common ones. Don't see yours? Reach out — I'm happy to help.
What is your session rate?
My rate is $135 per session. I accept many major insurance plans through Alma, which may cover part or all of the cost. Contact me to verify your coverage.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I accept insurance through the Alma platform. Many major plans are accepted. You can check your coverage by visiting my Alma profile or reaching out to me directly.
How does online therapy work?
We meet via secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions through Alma's platform. All you need is a private space, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. It's just like an in-person session — from the comfort of your home.
Who do you work with?
I work with individuals and families. I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem challenges, and women's issues.
Do I have to live in a specific area?
I am licensed in the state of Florida, so you must be physically located in Florida during our sessions. Since all sessions are online, you can be anywhere in the state.
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know each other. I'll ask about your background, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. There's no pressure — it's a safe, judgment-free conversation to see if we're a good fit.
How long are sessions?
Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes. The initial intake session may run slightly longer as we discuss your history and goals.
How often will we meet?
Most clients start with weekly sessions. As you progress, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs — some clients move to biweekly sessions over time.
Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
Yes! I understand that life is busy. I offer evening and weekend appointment times to accommodate your schedule.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Research consistently shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for most conditions, including anxiety and depression. Many clients actually prefer it because of the convenience and comfort of being in their own space.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and psychodynamic therapy. I tailor my approach to each client's unique needs and goals.
Is everything I share confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Everything you share is private and protected by law, with very few exceptions (such as imminent danger to yourself or others). I'll discuss these limits during our first session.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
I understand that things come up. I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or reschedules. Details about the cancellation policy will be shared when we begin working together.
What is EMDR therapy and how does it work?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process traumatic memories and reduce their emotional impact. During EMDR sessions, I guide you through bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements) while you focus on a disturbing memory. This helps your brain reprocess the memory so it no longer triggers intense emotional or physical reactions. EMDR is highly effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, and more.
What ages do you work with?
I work with teens (ages 13-17), young adults (18-24), adults (25-64), and seniors (65+). I offer individual, family, and child/adolescent therapy tailored to each age group's unique needs.
Are you an LGBT+ affirming therapist?
Yes, absolutely. As an LGBT+ ally, I am committed to providing an inclusive, affirming, and safe space for clients of all identities and backgrounds.
